Yaser Hamed has appeared eight times for NorthEast United in ISL 2023-24.

The most effective method to demonstrate your value in the game is by either advancing to the next level or ultimately representing your nation on the world stage. This achievement is generally considered significant from the perspective of players in any field.

The Indian Super League has proven to be a breeding ground for talent in recent years, with several players progressing to represent India at the international level.

The same applies to foreign players who enter into contracts with Indian clubs with the aim of gaining recognition from their national selection committees. This recognition would secure them a place in their national squads based on their performance.

With the 2023 AFC Asian Cup on the horizon, it’s worth noting that in addition to the Indian players, Palestine’s Yaser Hamed is the only foreign player across all Indian leagues who has been chosen to represent his nation at the tournament.

Yaser’s Career in India

Yaser was recruited by NorthEast United FC in August 2023. Since then, the defender, typically deployed as a centre-back, has participated in eight matches for the club. Notably, he started in three matches and served as a substitute in the remaining five.

Yaser’s stats for Palestine

In 26 matches for the Palestine national football team, Yaser has netted five goals. His most recent appearance for the country came in the match against Vietnam in November. However, he remained on the bench during the World Cup Qualification matches against Lebanon and Australia.

Palestine’s fixtures in 2023 AFC Asian Cup

Palestine are placed in Group C of 2023 AFC Asian Cup alongside Iran, United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong. They are going to play their first match against Iran on 14 January, while the next two matches against UAE and Hong Kong are scheduled on 18 January and 23 January, respectively.
