Hyderabad FC have been under financial strain for quite some time now.

Hyderabad FC co-owners, including famous actor Rana Daggubati, are under hot water after Hotel Ramada of Jamshedpur filed an FIR for unpaid dues. Incidentally, the FIR pertains to the failure to pay bills for 23 rooms over three days that the club used during their visit to the city for an Indian Super League game against Jamshedpur FC.

The General Manager of Hotel Ramada, Hari Kumar V Karupp, has registered the FIR at the Bistupur police station in Jamshedpur under sections 406, 420, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

As per the statement by the General Manager, high-profile Hyderabad FC officials such as club manager Vijay Madhuri, co-owner Varun Tripuraneni, team manager Nitin Mohan, team coordinator Anthony Thomas, general manager Suresh Gopalakrishnan, Ranganatha Reddy, and TK Balaji have not cleared their dues after staying at the Hotel Ramada. The police will now investigate the matter and more details are awaited as it progresses.

Mounting Troubles

The fall of Hyderabad FC has been sudden and sad to witness. Their performance on the pitch has been miserable. The club, which won the 2021-22 ISL Trophy, sits at the bottom of the league table and is the only club in the division that is yet to win its first game of the 2023-24 Indian Super League season.

Furthermore, the failure to complete pending dues has not been limited to only Hotel Ramada. Former manager Manolo Marquez and players such as Bartholomew Ogbeche, Oswaldo Alanis, Felipe Amorim and Jonathan Moya have allegedly not been paid their dues.

As a result, Oswaldo Alanis, Felipe Amorim and Jonathan Moya left the club mid-way through the 2023-24 season. Reports further suggest that the club might lose key domestic players to other clubs to fix its financial situation and overturn a FIFA transfer ban that currently prevents it from registering any new players due to the unpaid dues.
