Barcelona remain interested in signing Bernardo Silva, confirms player agent Jorge Mendes

The Spanish side wanted to sign the midfielder last summer
According to Jorge Mendes, Bernardo Silva’s agent, Barcelona continues to search for him.
The father of Bernardo Silva has acknowledged that Barcelona was considering the midfield player this summer, but he also claims that Xavi’s team wasn’t the only one hoping to sign the Portugal international.
The 29-year-old was desired by Barca, but their financial situation prevented a move from happening. As a result, Bernardo ended up signing an additional deal with Pep Guardiola’s team.
Before signing a new contract with City, Paulo Silva believes his son received attention from PSG and the Middle East.
Barcelona’s pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva appears to be a faraway dream come true, but the team is still holding out hope.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barça is still looking into ways to figure out how to put together a bid strong enough to persuade Pep Guardiola and City to part with one of their finest players.

Although reports from England suggest that Bernardo is going to sign an extension with the reigning European winners once he realises that moving to Catalonia is not feasible this summer, he has not yet signed anything to give Barça a little more time. Despite this, it is clear that Bernardo continues to desire Barça.
According to MD, one of the “economic levers” that the club’s members agreed on last year was the sale of 16% of Barça Studios, and the Blaugrana will likely announce a €60 million deal with a German investment firm for that transaction.
City turned down Barça’s first offer, which included a one-year loan with an obligatory buyout clause for €60 million.
