Barcelona coach Xavi did not deliver post match team talk after El Clasico defeat: Reports
Xavi’s men lost to Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana final
Real Madrid secured a thumping 4-1 win over Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana 2023-24 final. This was a humiliating defeat for Xavi’s men and there are reports that the former World Cup winner has not spoken to his players.
According to Cadena SER, the Barcelona coach did not give a post-match team talk following their El Clasico defeat and is yet to do so. Neither he nor Joan Laporta spoke to the players as a group in the aftermath of such a damning defeat.
The Blaugrana players arrived back on Monday in Catalonia and had the rest of the day off. They are due back in training on Tuesday morning when it is assumed that Xavi will speak about the match.
Xavi led Barcelona to their 27th Spanish LaLiga title in just his first full season at his former club. This season the team has struggled in the league and is sitting fourth in the league table behind Girona, Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao.
There have been a lot of speculations on Xavi’s future at Barcelona. However, the transfer business has been restricted due to financial issues and the club has failed to attract big names. The Spanish manager is using the academy players and other players present at the club.
Deco spoke after the defeat and insisted Xavi’s future is not up for discussion right now.

“It’s a tough defeat. Furthermore, we have not been able to fight. We have to continue and think about the Cup,” he told Movistar.
“This question [about Xavi] doesn’t make any sense. The coach continues to have everyone’s trust. It is a defeat that does not change anything in that aspect.”
Xavi has the backup of the board and will aim to get back on track in the remaining part of the season.
