Noussair Mazraoui joined Bayern Munich in 2022

Noussair Mazraoui is adamant about representing Morocco at the AFCON because he values the competition greatly. The defender’s desire to play despite his calf ailment worries Bayern. Mazraoui has started exercising with the ball again today and is currently working alone at Säbener Straße.

Bayern Munich are aware of Mazraoui’s pride in representing his nation and how important it is to him to be at this competition, but they are concerned that he might aggravate his injury, particularly in light of his World Cup experience, where he played through COVID and had to miss several months due to a cardiac condition.

On January 7, Morocco’s national football team will take part in a friendly match against Gambia before the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations 2023 (AFCON).

The news was released by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), but no precise information regarding the date, time, or location of the game was given.

According to the release, the match is an aspect of the national team’s build-up to the AFCON, which will begin in Cote d’Ivoire on January 13.

As per the most recent FIFA rankings, Morocco’s football team ranks 13th globally after the year.

On the list, the nation is placed higher than Egypt, Senegal, and Tunisia as the best African squad. Several well-known players from the historic 2022 World Cup run in Qatar are on the list, notably Romain Saiss, Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui, Munir Mohamedi El Kajoui, and Yassine Bounou.

According to Regragui, his side wants to take full advantage of the fact that they are the favourites competing.
