Chelsea injury update ahead of EFL Cup second-leg clash against Middlesbrough

Malo Gusto is now the newest Chelsea player to suffer an injury
This week, Chelsea will return to action when they play the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Middlesbrough. The Blues need to beat the Championship team in order to secure a spot at Wembley, as they trailed 1-0 following the first leg.
Coming into the match, Mauricio Pochettino’s team is coming off a 1-0 victory against Fulham the previous weekend. Two days ago, Boro was restricted to a 1-1 draw by Rotherham, but the west Londoners picked up three vital points in the hunt for Champions League qualifying.
In the second round of the Carabao Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Middlesbrough, Mauricio Pochettino is itching to exact his retribution. On Tuesday night, the Blues will host Michael Carrick’s team at Stamford Bridge in hopes of securing a spot in the Wembley final.
Chelsea enters the match fresh off a 1-0 victory over Fulham the previous weekend. In the hunt for Champions League qualifying, the west Londoners picked up three vital points, but Pochettino found it difficult to convince his sceptics, particularly after he started Ben Chilwell at left wing instead of Mykhailo Mudryk.
Middlesbrough, who are also dealing with a lot of injuries, will be confident going into their match against the Blues after overcoming Millwall the previous weekend. The Championship team is not to be taken lightly, and Chelsea may have to play them without some of its star players.
