Conor Bradley made his debut for Liverpool against Bournemouth

Trent Alexander-Arnold is already one of Liverpool’s top right-backs in the Premier League, and Conor Bradley may add another. Due to Alexander-Arnold’s injury, 20-year-old Bradley earned his Premier League debut on Sunday against AFC Bournemouth, contributing to the team’s 4-0 victory. Bradley was a player for Liverpool in the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and UEFA Europa League last season, and he was well-liked by coach Jurgen Klopp.

Bradley has excelled not only at the club level but also on the international stage, having earned 13 caps for Northern Ireland since making his debut at the age of 17 in May 2021.

However, who exactly is the gifted defender?

Bradley was born on July 9, 2003. He earned his first professional contract less than a year later, in July 2020, after moving to Liverpool from Northern Ireland’s Dungannon United in September 2019.

Bradley was a standout player for Liverpool’s Under-23 team during this period, and he scored his first Premier League goal against West Ham United. He participated in the FA Youth Cup final as a player for the Under-18 squad as well.

Before moving up in 2021–2022, Bradley participated in 23 games across all tournaments for Liverpool’s youth teams during that season.

He played in an exhibition match against German side Stuttgart while travelling to Austria with the inaugural team for the summer. Bradley would later play 90 minutes in his complete Liverpool debut during a 3-0 EFL Cup victory over Norwich City (see below).

Striking at Bolton

Bradley received a nomination for Premier League 2 Player of the Season after recording three goals and eight assists from his 21 PL2 matches. Bradley finished the season with five senior games, three among which came in the EFL Cup, a competition that Liverpool won the following year.

In 2022–2023 he went on loan to Bolton Wanderers, a team in League One, where he had a great stint, making 53 games, seven goals, and six assists.

“A real talent”

Bradley, who had come a long way from his time at Bolton, rejoined Liverpool but missed the first four months of the campaign due to an injury sustained in the preseason.

He returned to action as a substitute in a Europa League encounter against LASK at the end of November, and the next day he inked a long-term deal with the team.

Bradley had two additional replacement outings of the period, one against West Ham United in the EFL Cup and the other over Arsenal in the FA Cup, following his season debut in a 2-1 loss to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the same tournament.
