Egypt have already lost Mohamed Salah to injury

Following today’s team training, Emam Ashour sustained a concussion and a brain injury, according to the Egyptian Football Association.

According to the statement, Ashour received emergency medical assistance from national team physician Mohamed Abou El-Ela. He was taken to the hospital right after and had all required testing done.

The player’s status is stable at this time, but the scans indicated that he had suffered a concussion. He will spend the next 24 hours in the hospital under medical care.
