Erling Haaland now ‘convinced’ to join Real Madrid to win more individual awards: Report

Before Erling Haaland moved from Dortmund to Manchester City, there were reports that Real Madrid were interested in him. Earlier this month, a report stated that if given the opportunity, the Norwegian would “sign for Real Madrid tomorrow.”

He is Real Madrid’s top target, and other publications have stated that he “will go” to the Bernabeu if their attempt to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe fails.

According to what is known, Haaland’s agreement has a €200 million release clause that will go into effect this year and will get smaller each transfer window until it expires in 2027.

However, an injury has kept him off the field for Pep Guardiola’s team since early December.

The Man City attacker and his “inner circle” have reportedly discussed the possibility of moving to Real Madrid, according to Spanish daily AS Diario.

Lionel Messi won the Best Men’s Player title at the Best FIFA Football Awards earlier this month, which led Haaland his agent to believe that for him to win additional individual recognition, he “needs to move to a club like Madrid.”
