Jose Mourinho agrees to become Al-Shabab’s new manager: Reports
Jose Mourinho was sacked by AS Roma
Reports from Saudi Arabia state that Jose Mourinho has verbally agreed to take over as Al-Shabab’s manager.
After a dismal start to the season, Mourinho was fired by Roma already this week, leaving the Giallorossi in ninth place in Serie A.
After turning down the “biggest and boldest approach a coach has ever received” to stay at Roma, Mourinho frequently discussed the possibility of taking charge in the Saudi Pro League one day while he was still at the club.
According to reports, he would have received £500,000 per week to take over as manager of Al-Hilal, which is now under the management of Jorge Jesus. Asharq Al-Awsat, a Saudi-owned tabloid, is claiming that Mourinho is poised to take charge at Al-Shabab now that he is unemployed.
According to the source, Mourinho spoke via Zoom on Thursday with Domenico Tite, the sporting director of Al-Shabab, and a decision was made for him to take over as the manager of the club.

If the transaction can be completed, it further states that Mourinho is “expected to arrive” in Saudi Arabia in the upcoming days.
There are also rumours that Mourinho plans to sign some significant foreign players in the summer. With players like Yannick Carrasco, a former star player for Atletico Madrid, and Ever Banega, a former playmaker for Sevilla, in their ranks, Al-Shabab is presently ranked eleventh in the Saudi Pro League.
They fired former Liverpool player Igor Biscan last month, leaving them without a manager. Mourinho already stated to the MBC Egypt television network last year that he hopes to manage in Saudi Arabia at some point.
