Jose Mourinho eyeing second spell with Manchester United: Reports

The Portuguese won Europa League in his first stint as Man United manager
According to Mail Sport, Jose Mourinho is eager to make what would be a spectacular, if improbable, comeback to Manchester United.
The Portuguese boss, who was dismissed by Roma just recently, ‘has made it his goal’ to take leadership roles again should the chance present itself. According to sources close to him, he thinks he has ‘unfinished work’ since departing Old Trafford in December 2018.
In terms of the petroleum products billionaire’s 25% stake in the team, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will take over football processes, and Mourinho is reportedly eager to work with them.
“His goal is to rejoin United,” a buddy clarified. “He made it his mission to return because he feels like he has unfinished business there after how it ended the last time.”
After Louis van Gaal left United in 2016, Jose Mourinho assumed leadership of the team. In the inaugural campaign, he won the Europa League and the Carabao Cup. The next year, he finished in second spot in the Premier League, but they were still 19 points behind rivals City.
He agreed to a contract extension through 2021, but tensions with those in authority increased. This was particularly evident when the team lost out on many transfer targets and he was fired after a loss to Liverpool. Even though it seemed inevitable that Jose Mourinho would leave, he ended up with the support of United’s matchday supporters.

The 61-year-old Mourinho also had problems with a few of the team’s players, and he admitted as much on John Obi Mikel’s podcast in December of last year. These players, in his opinion, weren’t up to the task.
‘There are still people in that club,’ he said, ‘when I say people I mean some players but also some other people that are not players, that are still there when I told Manchester United after two months: with these people you are never going to do it. And they are still there.’
From the team he passed on, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, and Scott McTominay are still players at United.
Erik ten Hag’s team is 16 points below leaders Liverpool in the Premier League heading into Wednesday’s travel to Wolves, and they have already qualified out of Europe. The FA Cup is their only chance to win something this season.
