Jurgen Klopp gives Mohamed Salah injury update: AFCON 2023

Mohamed Salah is currently playing in AFCON 2023
Following the “big shock” of watching Mohamed Salah being forced off the pitch due to injury during the Africa Cup of Nations, Jurgen Klopp claims Liverpool are still waiting to find out the exact degree of Salah’s ailment.
On Thursday night, Salah kicked off Egypt’s group stage match against Ghana, but he was taken off at the half due to a hamstring issue.
After a bursting sprint, the 31-year-old gripped the back of his left leg and needed medical attention before hobbling to the touchline. Before departing the field, Salah gave the captain’s armband to the captain, looking like he was trying to hold back his tears.
The Egypt player grinned and seemed to be able to walk without any trouble, but he did not pause to talk to reporters in the mixed zone following the game.
During a Friday press conference, Klopp disclosed that he had a conversation with his star on Thursday evening. Despite not being able to provide any additional information on the forward, he acknowledged that it had to be a significant issue because his best player is rarely unable to play.

‘We don’t know anything, I spoke with him last night with him on how it is,’ Klopp said.
‘Further assessment is what they are doing now. It was a moment of shock. You could see he was hit with something high intensity. You have these kind of injuries and we know how rarely he needs to go off. So it’s definitely something. So we will see. But I don’t know any information more.“
‘We will see. It depends on diagnosis, they will do ultra sound, MRI [scans] then we will see. But it is too early.’
Before Liverpool’s Premier League match against Brentford on February 17, where Egypt was hoping to go to the competition’s final in Ivory Coast, they were already facing the prospect of losing their best player.
