Karim Benzema could join another Saudi club: Reports

Karim Benzema has been linked with moves to Man United and Chelsea
Karim Benzema (36), who has ruled out leaving Saudi Arabia, has few possibilities to leave Al Ittihad this month. L’Équipe reports that negotiations are still on to transfer the Frenchman to a different Riyadh team.
Only a few months after joining Al-Ittihad on a free transfer from Real Madrid, Benzema requested to depart, according to an AFP story earlier this month. Although the Frenchman’s group has refuted the allegations, Manchester United and Olympique Lyonnais are among the potential teams who have started to show interest.
However, the Saudi authorities would like to stop Benzema from going back to Europe at any cost, as it would be bad for the Saudi Super League’s reputation. Eight days remain until the Gulf State season resumes, and L’Équipe has learned that talks to transfer Benzema to a different team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, are already in progress.
The club’s existence remains undisclosed. However, Al Ittihad has to approve the move first, which they haven’t done yet.

On Tuesday, the Saudi Arabian press said that Gallardo was unwilling to concede any territory and had declined to permit the Frenchman to return to the club during their mid-season training session in Dubai.
Benzema had a few days off in Mauritius, so he skipped the flight to the United Arab Emirates. After coming back he trained by himself in Saudi Arabia.
The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner has recently been connected to transfers to Lyon, the French team where he began his playing days, as well as Premier League teams Arsenal and Chelsea.
Any possible transfer would be challenging to pull off due to Al Ittihad’s unwillingness to allow Benzema to depart for free and his enormous salary.
