Kylian Mbappe set to decide his future at PSG in upcoming week

Kylian Mbappe could leave PSG when he becomes a free agent
After years of connections outside of Paris Saint-Germain, the Kylian Mbappe transfer drama is finally expected to conclude in February, according to reports.
After loaning to PSG from Monaco in 2017, the French captain has been linked to leaving the Parisian team almost every transfer window for the past four years. Real Madrid’s commitment to the future has led to many links between the two teams, but nothing has happened as Mbappe has repeatedly signed new contracts in Paris, the most recent of which paid well.
The player has the option to extend his contract by an additional year, which would prevent the club from releasing him for free this summer. However, such an extension would only delay the contract’s expiration and provide negligible value for the £153 million the club paid to recruit him.
But after years of back and forth, it seems that the star will finally tell PSG what he wants to do in the coming days, according to AS reports.
Mbappe has two realistic possibilities as of this writing: he can decide to stay in Paris and earn a gross income of almost £60 million a year, or he can choose to leave this summer for nothing and sign a contract somewhere with a far lower salary.
According to the article, the star is believed to have informed Luis Enrique’s team that he would make his decision “within the next fortnight,” according to sources close to PSG.

It goes on to confirm that PSG has not yet made a formal offer of an extension to the player, but has instead asked him if he would be willing to commit to the team’s future goals and stay on.
Whilst the player is believed to be unsure if continuing at PSG is the best option for his career, the money on offer would obviously be an enticing proposition after the club went to great lengths to keep its star.
Mbappe is the main attraction at PSG, where the team essentially romps home with a minimum of one trophy every year against little opposition.
But the Champions League is the one that clubs and players are most interested in, and Mbappe might think that facing record champions Real Madrid is his best opportunity to win the coveted title.
Mbappe has never concealed his admiration for Real Madrid, but over the past six months, according to AS, Los Blancos’ motivation to acquire the youngster has decreased due to Jude Bellingham’s rise to prominence and Vinicius Jr.’s ongoing excellence.
