Roberto De Zerbi in contention to become next Barcelona manager

The Spanish manager has decided to leave the club after the end of the season
Roberto De Zerbi, the head coach of Brighton, is the overwhelming favourite to succeed Xavi at Barcelona. After Barcelona’s 5-3 loss to Villarreal on Saturday, Xavi made it known that he would be leaving the team after the current campaign.
In addition to garnering praise for his efforts as Brighton’s manager, De Zerbi has been connected to the Liverpool position since Jurgen Klopp decided to leave at the end of the season.
The Sun earlier revealed that De Zerbi is the favourite to become the next manager of Barcelona, according to Ladbrokes, who has him at 5/1.
Xavi, who has been in command of Barcelona since November 2021, won La Liga with the team last year, but he has faced a lot of frustration this year. Along with former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui, former Barcelona defender Rafa Marquez, who currently coaches the team’s B squad, is the second favourite at 6/1.
Ten points behind Real Madrid, the top team in La Liga, is Barcelona right now. De Zerbi, who had managed Shakhtar Donetsk before, was named manager of Brighton in September 2022.

De Zerbi’s Brighton team advanced to the FA Cup semifinals in his debut season as manager, although they were defeated by Manchester United.
Brighton made history by finishing seventh in the Premier League and earning a spot in the Europa League, which allowed the team to play in Europe for the first time.
Brighton have gained 32 points from their first 21 Premier League games this season, and they are now ranked seventh once more. Given his playing style, De Zerbi is renowned for being a very modern manager, which may fit Barcelona’s philosophies.
