Jordan have been the talk of the tournament, thanks to their heroic performances. They have taken everyone by surprise by taking down some of the best teams of the tournament. They edged past Tajikistan in their quarter-final clash while South Korea pulled off a comeback win against Australia.
Historicals significance: South Korea undefeated
The first clash between the two sides dates back to 2004 when South Korea hosted Jordan at the 2004 AFC Asian Cup in Jinan, China. The clash ended in a 0-0 draw and since then, both sides have played each other five times with their latest clash ending in a 2-2 draw in a Group E fixture at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

The semi-final clash will present an opportunity for either side to book a place in the all important final. A mistake will take them home while a win will book them a place in the final of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
The stakes are higher than ever in this penultimate clash between the two best sides of the tournament. Jordan qualified for the knockouts as one of the four best third-placed teams while South Korea finished second in Group E.
The historical significance of the fixture leans towards South Korea as they are yet to lose a game against Jordan. However, Jordan’s display at the tourney also puts them in a good position to make it to their first-ever final.
