'This is reality of Indian football...' - fans fume at alleged match-fixing in Delhi Football League
Delhi FC owner Ranjit Bajaj has also spoken out about match-fixing in the Delhi Football League.
In the recent Delhi Football League match between Ahbab FC and Rangers, a surprising incident of alleged match-fixing came to light. During the game, Ahbab players appeared to concede two additional soft goals in the final four minutes, despite leading 4-0. This curious turn of events resulted in Ahbab FC securing a 4-2 victory.
The incident came to light when clips of the final two goals were circulated on social media and fans complained about their auspicious nature. The video shared, showed clear evidence of the game being rigged. Soon after, Delhi FC owner Ranjit Bajaj took to social media and stated that his team too was approached by the betting companies.
In a tweet published by him where he claimed that the match-fixing is very evident, he said, “I can guarantee that fixing is rampant in the @FootballDelhi senior premier division- that’s why we true to play In it ever again till they take action- I have been saying it again and again- the most corrupt league In the country – @ILeague_aiff is not behind – referees – team owners – five teams involved and all players know about it – no one cares – and guess who is the main partner of delhi soccer association- a betting company.”
Furthermore, he went on, “I tweeted about this a month ago no one even contacted me – who will want to see this match – please make this go viral – this is actually the third division of our league.”
To get more details on the issue, Khel Now contacted Ranjit Bajaj. Speaking on the incident he further revealed, “Multiple people here are involved in this and there is no action taken on them.“
