ISL 2023-24: Points Table, Most Goals and Most Assists after Match 87, Hyderabad FC vs East Bengal FC

East Bengal saw a long jump on the ISL table with their victory over Hyderabad FC.

The two long-standing rivals, Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal FC, achieved victories in their respective matches during the ongoing 2023-24 Indian Super League. 

Mohun Bagan emerged triumphant in the first game on this double-header Saturday, prevailing over NorthEast United with a score of 4-2. The Mariners’ goals came from Liston Colaco, Jason Cummings, Dimitri Petratos, and Sahal Abdul Samad, while Tomi Juric netted a brace for the Highlanders.

In the second game of the day, East Bengal FC defeated Hyderabad FC with a 1-0 scoreline, courtesy of a goal from skipper Cleiton Silva in the 11th minute of the match.

A brief look at the points table 

Odisha FC remain at the top spot in the ISL 2023-24 table with 31 points from 15 games. Mohun Bagan have now taken the second place on the points table after today’s win. They have accumulated 29 points from 14 matches.

FC Goa lost one place and are now at the third spot with 28 points from 12 matches. Kerala Blasters remain at the fourth place with 26 points after their recent loss to Chennaiyin FC. Mumbai City FC are placed fifth with 25 points from 13 matches.  

With their latest win, Jamshedpur FC have cemented their place at the sixth spot with 17 points from 16 matches. 

NorthEast United FC also remain at the seventh place with 16 points from 14 matches, while East Bengal FC move up to the eighth place with 15 points from 14 matches.

Chennaiyin FC are now placed ninth with 15 points from 14 matches. Bengaluru FC are now on the 10th spot with 15 points from 15 matches. Punjab FC also moved down to the eleventh place after East Bengal’s win over Hyderabad.

Hyderabad FC remain as the bottom-placed side with just four points from 15 matches.
