The Catalans giants have turned down any approach from Bayern for Ronald Araujo

Rumours indicate that defender Ronald Araujo may be thinking about quitting Camp Nou in favour of Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich, indicating that Barcelona’s problems look to be getting worse.

The Bavarians have been keeping an eye on the Uruguayan for an extended period now, and a deal might be done in the summer.

Due to their recent transfer endeavours, Barcelona are still financially troubled even with a new upper management team. Due to their financial hardship, the Blaugrana may lose several prominent players during the upcoming transfer window.

Rafael Honigstein, The Athletic’s German journalist, revealed that Araujo was open to accepting a trade to Bayern Munich during the winter transfer window. The 24-year-old defensive veteran was also the subject of a €80 million transfer proposal from the German giants, but it was never finalised in time.

Before Barcelona’s match against Osasuna in the Supercopa de Espana, Araujo was questioned about the rumours that connected him to the Bundesliga. He declared once more that he intended to carry on with the Blaugrana, saying:

He did not, however, refute or validate the rumours that he had gotten a call from Bayern Munich. Since none of the parties concerned have offered clarification, anything could happen during the next transfer window. He is still a target for the Bavarians to sign.

Despite his ongoing fitness problems, Araujo is one of the most important players on the present Barcelona team, having participated in 24 games across all competitions.
