Bayern Munich ended their three-match losing streak

Harry Kane’s brace secured a 2-1 win for Bayern Munich against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga 2023-24 season. Thomas Tuchel’s men lost their last two league matches. They are still eight points behind league leaders Leverkusen.

This was a must-win match for Bayern Munich after three consecutive losses in all competitions. A loss against Bayer Leverkusen was followed by a defeat against Lazio in the UEFA Champions League. VfL Bochum handed Bayern another defeat and Leverkusen had an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

Thomas Tuchel’s men began the first half with more control. Harry Kane struck the post in the fifth minute of the match. He was denied an opportunity to score his 26th goal in the league. The first half ended goalless despite Bayern’s domination.

Bayern Munich needed someone to step up and rescue them from this tough time. Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala combined for the first goal. The Bavarians took the lead in the 56th minute.

RB Leipzig are fighting for a Champions League spot for the next season. They are trailing Stuttgart in the league table and needed at least a point to stay in the hunt. Borussia Dortmund are the other team competing for a UCL place.

Benjamin Sesko levelled the scoring for Leipzig in the 70th minute. Dani Olmo created the goal for his team. Bayern were heading towards another disappointing result.

Harry Kane scored a late winner in injury and stoppage time to give his side a much-needed victory. This was Kane’s 27th goal in the league and took his tally to 31 goals. The Englishman scored 32 goals for Tottenham Hotspur last season.

RB Leipzig are fifth in the table behind Borussia Dortmund. Tuchel’s men still have a gap of eight points to cover.
