Brahim Diaz has also represented Spain national team

According to Diario AS, Real Madrid player Brahim Diaz is about to change the country of his national team from Spain to Morocco.

Diaz can represent Morocco despite having played for Spain at all levels due to his dual citizenship. A player with dual nationality may change allegiance under FIFA regulations provided that he has participated in a maximum of three competitive senior games before turning 21.The player cannot have participated in an important competition’s final stage and their last senior appearance for their former national team must have been at least three years ago.

After the former AC Milan player rejected Morocco’s offer to play for them in the 2018 World Cup, they have been attempting to entice him to join them. While the 24-year-old was on loan at Milan earlier this year, it is alleged that head coach Walid Regragui had conversations with him to convince him.Diaz aspired to be successful with Spain, thinking that his stellar Serie A campaign would open doors for him to join the national squad.

However, he has now chosen to move to Morocco after being routinely disregarded by Spain’s coaches in previous years.

Real Madrid are obstructing Diaz’s desire to switch allegiance to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations, according to a spokesman for the Moroccan national team.

Madrid might have to let Diaz participate in the competition in January, which would mean they would be without him for a crucial stretch of games.

After joining Los Merengues from AC Milan in August, Diaz has quickly established himself as a key member of the squad, playing in 18 games so far this year and dishing out two assists and four goals in a variety of competitions.

A fascinating new chapter in the story is added by Brahim Diaz’s walk through the streets of Marrakech as he negotiates the complexities of having two nationalities.
