Fernandes, Nicolas Jackson and Andreas Pereira have picked the most yellow cards for dissent in the league
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is joint top on the list of players with the most yellow cards picked up for dissent in Premier League 2023-24.
Football players will soon be subject to a temporary ban under the new rule known as “blue Cards.”
Before being allowed to return to the game, players who receive the new blue card will have to sit out for 10 minutes.
Players who exhibit disapproval towards the officials will receive cards, which may go up to and include blatantly cynical fouling.
It would take the place of the present yellow card system for those crimes. Many players could have to spend significant time in the sin bin if the regulation were to be enforced in the Premier League.
Additionally, the new regulation may cause problems for some of the Premier League’s biggest names, as many players have already had their cards branded for dissent this season.
This season, Bruno Fernandes has been the most frequently booked individual for dissent. The leader of Manchester United has already received FOUR yellow cards for misbehaving towards league referees.
If the suggested sin-bin penalty were applied to those bookings, that would mean a total of 40 minutes spent on the sidelines. Both Fulham’s Andreas Perreira and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson have received four bookings apiece this season for acting disrespectfully towards the referees; as a result, they will also be benched for forty minutes.
