Chelsea injury update ahead of Carabao Cup final against Liverpool

Thiago Silva could be in contention to start the game
There are just two days left until the most important match of Chelsea’s campaign under Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues want to take home the first domestic prize up for grabs this season when they play Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
Pochettino, who has never taken home a trophy from England, has been plagued by injuries this season, missing several important players. But Liverpool is also missing some major players; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, and Diogo Jota are all expected to miss the championship game.
Chelsea have struggled with injuries all season, but their recent victories over Ben Chilwell and Christopher Nkunku have been immensely encouraging. Even so, some people’s fitness levels are unlikely to significantly increase in the near future.
Once Chelsea and Liverpool play in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday at Wembley, the two teams may be without first up to 20 players between them. Both teams are in danger of missing out on the first domestic championship up for grabs this season due to a rash of injuries that have worsened in recent weeks.
Despite this, Mauricio Pochettino has spent the majority of the season managing without a big chunk of his team. For the match, he will be without two midfield summer additions and three of his best defenders.
