Aaron Ramsdale has dropped on the bench since David Raya’s arrival

Chelsea are already planning their transfer moves in the summer of 2024. According to reports, the Blues want to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The 25-year-old Englishman is struggling for game time under Mikel Arteta. After playing almost every game in the 2022-23 season, Ramsdale was dropped to the bench after Spanish goalkeeper David Raya arrived.

Chelsea signed Robert Sanchez from Brighton at the start of the season, but they are not convinced with his performance. They are looking to bring in an upgrade and they have identified the star as a potential alternative. Kepa Arrizabalaga is another player who can stand in the goal. He was allowed to join Real Madrid on loan and is likely to stay in Spain.

The Blues have also set their sights on Valencia’s No. 1 Giorgi Mamardashvili. He is one of the top performers in the LaLiga and is on the radar of other clubs as well.

Former Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was signed for around £25 million last summer. He started the season for the Blues but an injury has kept him out. Dorde Petrovic is the No. 1 choice for Mauricio Pochettino in recent games.

Aaron Ramsdale is looking for an escape route after falling down in the pecking order. After starting in the first few games for the Gunners, Ramsdale made only a limited number of appearances for Arteta’s side.

The Blues need some new faces and will also allow some of their players to leave in the summer. Signing a goalkeeper has become a priority for Pochettino’s men. With over 100 Premier League appearances and four international caps to his name, Ramsdale could be a perfect addition to the team.
