Jude Bellingham's celebration shows character, not arrogance: Jose Mourinho

Jude Bellingham has 16 goals this season for Real Madrid

Jude Bellingham’s celebration, according to former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, doesn’t display arrogance; rather, it demonstrates his strong spirit that says, “I did it again.”

Since Bellingham’s colleagues ensure that his influence is felt regardless of whether he is not on the pitch, his celebration of spreading his arms wide has become a hallmark festivity within the Real Madrid team.

Real Madrid reportedly suffered an upset in their quest for the LaLiga championship as Rayo Vallecano held them on Sunday. Joselu scored the first goal of the game, and it took over three minutes for the VAR to confirm the goal.

“When Jude Bellingham scores and opens his arms to celebrate, it shows character. It’s not arrogance, it’s just ‘here I am, I did it again,’” Mourinho told FIVEUK.

“When you see the kid [Bellingham], you see someone with a big personality,” he added.

After the goal was officially confirmed, Joselu made an original celebration choice that appeared to honour Bellingham’s recognisable aesthetic.

With a motion that was evocative of Bellingham, the forward rushed to the corner flag to signal the goal, raising his arms in the air.

Brahim Diaz, who netted Madrid’s lone goal in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg match against RB Leipzig, honoured the injured player prior to Joselu’s homage.

“I love [Bellingham]. From the first moment, we’ve got on well. I’m helping him with his Spanish. He’s a world-class player, I enjoy playing with him. Apart from the charisma he has, he’s a great person,” said Diaz about his teammate after scoring a wonderful solo goal.
