Real Madrid are working behind the scenes to sign the French forward

Due to his team’s alleged misgivings about the terms of the agreement presented by the LaLiga powerhouses, Kylian Mbappe has not yet committed his future to either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid have been regarded as the most probable route for the French international, who has been strongly linked to a move out of the Parc des Princes.

But PSG are eager to cling onto their best player and offer him a new contract. Although reports from earlier this week indicated that Mbappe and Real Madrid had reached an agreement, later reports indicate the striker is still undecided.

The Athletic claims that Mbappe has been aware of the terms Madrid are prepared to provide him since the beginning of January. His group, nevertheless, is not persuaded by the offer that the LaLiga heavyweights have put out.

Madrid are thought to have made a smaller offer than the club made when it previously negotiated a transfer from PSG in May 2022. Nonetheless, the striker would still be paid more than any other member of Madrid’s team under the new contract.

The Athletics’ sources claim that when they started talking, Mbappe was given a salary of €26 million annually in 2022 together with a signing bonus of €130 million (£110 million).

In the meantime, PSG have been offering long-term and short-term contracts to Mbappe in an effort to persuade the 25-year-old to stay in France for an extended period of time.

According to sources close to The Athletic, Mbappe would continue to get the same salary under the suggested offers, which is reportedly €75 million after taxes and before incentives.

Although Madrid are unable to match PSG’s offer, Florentino Perez, the club president, is apparently still optimistic that he can persuade Mbappe to come to the team for the wage offered in the present proposal.

Currently, Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari gives him advice. Following reports in Spanish newspapers late last year that she was forced to resign from representing her son according to FIFA’s agent requirements, she has once again become his agent.

Even if those regulations have now been “loosened,” Lamari has resumed her function as his agent and is probably going to be very important in his next football adventure.
