The Red Devils look to extend their unbeaten run in 2024

Manchester United welcome Fulham to Old Trafford this Saturday in the Premier League. The hosts will be looking for three points in their hunt for a shot at European football next season whereas Fulham will be hoping to get back into the top half of the table. Four consecutive wins in the Premier League have moved the Red Devils to within five points of fourth place ahead of the weekend, amid recent stutters from Aston Villa and Tottenham.

The Red Devils under Erik ten Hag have found solace in Rasmus Hojlund who has peaked at the right time. The Danish striker has scored seven goals in his last six league appearances and threatens to break age-old records.

Fulham, on the other hand, currently sit 12th in the Premier League. In 25 games, Fulham have eight wins, five draws and 12 losses which leaves them on 29 points, already six points behind Chelsea in tenth. Fulham have managed to keep only two clean sheets in the last 10 games. Marco Silva’s men seem to have been working on their defence, but the results haven’t been evident on the pitch. A leaky defence on Saturday afternoon could prove costly against the in-form Red Devils. While their position in the middle of the table seems safe, Fulham needs to get something from this match to gain their confidence.

Kick-Off:

Form

Manchester United (All Competitions): W-W-W-W-W

Fulham (All Competitions): L-W-D-D-L

Players to Watch

Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United)

He is a powerful box-to-box midfielder with very good playmaking skills. A player with a very good body mass ratio, physical strength, power, stamina, and natural fitness who feels comfortable in contact situations. Mainoo is fantastic at drawing and evading pressure, and his decision-making for releasing the ball at the right time is excellent. He is also very good at controlling the tempo and seems to have an instinct for either speeding up or slowing down the play.

Willian (Fulham)

Willian can play equally well on both sides, which makes him a very valuable addition to every attacking line due to his versatility. What is even more impressive is his ability to place well as a No 10 in the central areas too. Fulham’s creativity is channelled through Willian. Willian has been an imperious asset of an attack-minded, competitive, and aggressive for his team.
