Pep Guardiola provides update on Jack Grealish's injury ahead of Brentford clash

Jack Grealish missed the Chelsea game due to an injury
Medical tests have shown that Jack Grealish’s injury is not as bad as initially thought, which is good news for Manchester City.
“It’s a pity, he’s gutted,” Pep Guardiola said after the game against Copenhagen.
“The last few days his mood at training was much better.
“He played really good, he was helping us with the tempo. He wanted to continue but we didn’t want to do even worse damage.”
Due to a groyne injury, Jack Grealish hobbled off during Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.
Despite early worries that he may be sidelined for a month, he missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, but there is optimism he might get back in time for the derby against Manchester United on March 3.

“It’s not that much, not as bad as we expected,” Guardiola said.
“It will be maybe 10 days. It was three weeks or a month but it is less so it is good news.”
Grealish, who has fallen down the rankings this season, made just his second start of 2024 against Copenhagen.
After spending a little over a month on the sidelines, Guardiola later remarked that the 28-year-old was upset to be substituted off immediately against the Danish champions.
The good news about Grealish’s injury indicates that the England midfielder will likely be ready for a critical March schedule of games.
City will play important English Premier League games against United, Liverpool, Brighton, and Arsenal in addition to the second leg of their round-of-16 Champions League match against Copenhagen.
After the draw with Chelsea, Guardiola’s club is currently in third place in the standings, four points below leaders Liverpool and two points off second-place Arsenal with one game remaining.
