Mohamed Salah has returned to training after a hamstring injury

Trent Alexander-Arnold aggravated a knee injury during Liverpool’s victory over Burnley, therefore he will miss this month’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

The vice-captain of Liverpool was substituted off the pitch after 45 minutes on Saturday due to discomfort in the same knee that he had torn the lateral ligament during the FA Cup triumph over Arsenal on January 7.

The defender’s estimated recovery time is a couple of weeks, so he won’t be available for the Wembley match on February 25th against Mauricio Pochettino’s team. No specific comeback date has been announced.

Alexander-Arnold made his second start at Burnley since the first injury. He started the Premier League loss at Arsenal and made an appearance in the FA Cup fourth-round victory over Norwich, but was substituted out as a last-ditch effort after 58 minutes.

Jürgen Klopp said that the injury against Burnley was made worse by the defender catching his studs on the pitch.

In Alexander-Arnold’s absence, Conor Bradley excelled; nevertheless, he hasn’t appeared in a game since opening his account for Liverpool in the 4-1 thumping of Chelsea at Anfield on January 31. After his father passed away, the Northern Ireland international was placed on humanitarian vacation; however, he resumed training this week.

This week saw the return of Mohamed Salah to football practice after missing the AFCON due to a hamstring injury.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s fitness for the Carabao Cup final has already been questioned by Klopp. In the league victory over Chelsea, the vital midfield player experienced a recurrence of a muscular issue. After suffering a muscle injury in his short return at Arsenal, Thiago Alcântara is additionally out.

Because this is a recurrent setback, the Liverpool medical team will proceed cautiously during his recuperation and won’t push him too soon.

In Alexander-Arnold’s absence, Klopp will depend on Conor Bradley, who returned to training after his father passed away and is back in Northern Ireland. On Saturday, the Reds will play their next league game at the Gtech Community Stadium against Brentford.
