Zinedine Zindane is also linked with Bayern job
Zinedine Zidane, the legendary player from Real Madrid, has stated that he will eventually get back into football administration after a three-year hiatus. During his coaching career, Zidane has only had two stints as Real Madrid’s manager.
He left the team in 2021 to make way for Carlo Ancelotti. Zidane has always been associated with the top roles in Europe. In the past, he has been linked to moves to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, and there was even speculation that he might take Didier Deschamps’ place at the French national team.
He launched his debut outside of France in Italy, where he said he would be pleased to coach during a recent series on the life of Marcello Lippi.
“Why not? Anything can happen, but at the moment I’m doing something else. I am sure that I will return to the bench, I would like to coach again.”

”Marcello Lippi was the one who made me come to Juventus, the first who believed in me and let me play. It wasn’t easy for him, I came from France, and everything was different, but Lippi made me become what I later became. As a player I had great coaches like Lippi or Ancelotti, but everyone has to follow their own path,” he explained during the documentary, as carried by Diario AS.
Zidane is full of praise for the Italian coach who led the Azzurri to a World Cup victory over his France team in the 2006 championship game, which was also his last game as an official player.
Only Zidane will know where his career is going next. Given that he has not hurriedly returned to management, it seems doubtful that he would enter a club in a position that he doesn’t feel is appropriate for him.
Zidane is under contract until after the 2026 World Cup, so if Deschamps does wind up leaving in the near future, he will be the front-runner once more.
