The Argentine has €12m release clause in his contract

Paulo Dybala’s future at AS Roma is increasingly becoming doubtful. The Argentine has been in impressive form with his goalscoring prowess this season and next summer the former Juventus forward could be available in the market but the 29-year-old has already been offered to Barcelona.

The Catalans giants will be keen on swooping in for his signing given his affordable release clause. The Spanish club’s current financial constraints prohibit them from spending huge sums during the transfer window, which has seen them mainly sign free agents or affordable players.

Barcelona’s left wing is currently occupied by Raphinha and teenager Lamine Yamal. Injury to the Brazilian has seen the Barcelona academy product being utilised frequently this season.

However, the Blaugurana giants will hope to avoid overusing their academy product as he could risk sustaining an injury, while the former Leeds United player at Barcelona looks uncertain and the club will be looking to offload to make a significant profit.

Dybala seems to be a great option for that as he adds a great amount of characteristics to the squad and also brings goalscoring instinct. However, his major concern will be injuries, as the Argentine often picked injuries during his time at Roma and Juventus.

So Barcelona would want to evaluate their options next summer as they will also have to find a replacement for Xavi and the incoming manager will also have a big say during the transfer window. But a player like Dybala’s calibre doesn’t take time to settle in a different league or system.

Even though his final months at Juventus were not great, Dybala is once again proving his abilities at Roma.Because of this, Atletico Madrid and West Ham United of the Premier League are both keeping tabs on the Argentine’s circumstances. Roma are willing to extend an offer to him for a new deal that includes a rise in pay in the meantime. However, the source notes that Dybala would prefer to play for Barcelona above any other team if Barcelona were to pursue him.
