Chelsea are ready to hire Brighton’s super-agent Sam Jewell this summer, and they are prepared to pay a compensation fee.
Jewell, 34, has been placed on gardening leave and will depart Brighton. But the Blues have the option to pay him a “big six-figure sum” to get him out of his deal. The cost is a lot less than what Manchester United will have to shell out for Dan Ashworth of Newcastle. It’s said that it will cost £20 million to entice him to leave St. James’ Park. Jewell has been employed by Brighton in the capacity of head of recruitment.
When Ashworth was lost by the Seagulls to the Toon at the beginning of the previous season, he advanced in the ranks. Jewell has been essential to Brighton’s success in identifying up-and-coming artists from around the world.
