The Frenchman has decided to leave PSG by the end of season
L’Équipe reports that Kylian Mbappé, the 25-year-old forward for Paris-Saint-Germain, expressed his frustration to his closest teammates about Luis Enrique’s choice to substitute him at half time. The French captain is anxious to avoid creating a scene surrounding the matter, despite his frustration.
In Friday night’s 0-0 tie between PSG and Monaco, Mbappé was substituted at the half, marking the fourth straight game in which he has been substituted or did not start a Ligue 1 encounter.
Luis Enrique verified at full time that the 25-year-old was not hurt when Randal Kolo-Muani (25) took his place at the interval.
“It was 100% the coach’s decision. Sooner or later we will have to get used to playing without Kylian Mbappe. It is my decision and one that I take with the objective of doing the best for the team.”
Mbappé, who will leave the team at the end of the season, has obviously not been happy about this. During his time with Les Parisiens, he was rarely replaced without becoming hurt or needing to be rested.

However, positive discussions between the former Barcelona manager and the former Monaco attacker have reportedly taken place in an effort to defuse tensions, per reports from L’Équipe and RMC Sport.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the president of PSG, was present at Stade Louis II on Friday night to observe the entire event. Ahead of PSG’s Champions League second-leg matchup against Real Sociedad, the scenario has generated some controversy.
Nevertheless, according to L’Équipe, the PSG president is staying out of the matter and trusting Luis Enrique to run the team any way he sees fit.
The coach stated that his side must be ready to contend without Mbappe. Any team would be affected by the loss of one of the greatest players in the world, therefore PSG needs to be prepared to replace the Frenchman with either current players or by making a trade. Mbappe won’t be present in either case.
