''My future is at AC Milan'': Rafael Leao on transfer links with PSG & Chelsea

The Portuguese forward has a contract until 2028 with Milan

Rafael Leao, forward for AC Milan, has stated he has no intention of leaving the team anytime soon, despite rumours of interest from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

According to recent reports from Spain, Milan may consider offers for the 24-year-old this summer, and Chelsea are expected to rekindle their interest in Leao. As they get ready for life without Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain has also been mentioned as a potential suitors.

But Leao has decisively dispelled any doubt about his prospects before it could spiral out of control.

“My future is very clear and it’s here at AC Milan”, he told Corriere della Sera. “I’m here and I still have a four-year contract. “Milan helped me when I was in a very difficult situation, they stayed close to me. I don’t forget. I’m loyal. I arrived as a boy, here I grew up as a man and as a footballer. I want to win again, my head is here.”

“To grow, I have to win important things, like the Champions League or the Europa League,” he continued. “Good things are forgotten too quickly, so you have to win every year, as much as possible. “When you’re at Milan, you have to do it. It’s not a choice, it’s a duty – to leave your name in history.”

Leao stated that getting Milan back to the top of the European rankings is his priority, even though he acknowledged his desire to compete for Champions League success.

Leao’s contract with Milan expires in 2028, and it is said that part of that contract is a massive €175 million (£150 million) release clause.

Another rumour on Saturday claims that PSG withdrew from the race for Leao, which may have improved Chelsea’s chances even further. The Parisians had shown interest in the Serie A attacker as they searched for a replacement for the departing Kylian Mbappe.However, PSG may offer Chelsea some problems in their chase of Victor Osimhen, another top target, now that they have stopped seeking Leao.
