Los Blancos beat RB Leipzig 2-1 on aggregate to advance to UCL quarter-finals
Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Real Madrid, discussed the team’s lineup and injury problems following the UCL match against RB Leipzig (1:1).
It’s important to remember that Real Madrid initially selected the Ukrainian Andriy Lunin, who defeated Kepa, in place of the Belgian custodian. On March 15, the quarterfinal matchups for the Champions League will be drawn. The second leg of the quarterfinal matchups is set for April 16–17, while the first matchup takes place on April 9–10.
“It’s quite possible that both Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao will return to the squad for the stage of the Champions League quarterfinals, and that will be great news,” – quoted the Italian coach UEFA’s official website.

Courtois and Eder Militao, who sustained anterior cruciate ligament injuries during the early stages of the campaign, have been out of commission for the last six months. Ancelotti said that both players may be six weeks away from playing again after they have been adhering to a customised training regimen.
This could provide Real Madrid with a competitive advantage as they compete for La Liga and the Champions League.
Their comeback coincides with important games on Real Madrid’s schedule, such as the much-awaited El Clasico matchup with Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 21. Furthermore, Courtois and Militao may play in the crucial second leg of the quarterfinal match, which is scheduled for April 16–17, should Real Madrid advance in the Champions League.
Before taking on Valencia on Saturday, Real Madrid received a shot in the arm thanks to the return of Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and Dani Carvajal.
With a six-point advantage over Barcelona and Girona at the top of the Liga standings, Los Blancos will make it harder for them to win if they win again at Mestalla.
