9:30 PM: Hello everyone and welcome to Khel Now's LIVE COVERAGE of Gokulam Kerala vs Amman SC in AFC Women's Club Championship 2021. Gokulam Kerala will take on Amman SC (Jordan), Shahrdari Sirjan (Iran) and FC Bunyodkor (Uzbekistan) in the continental competition. Led by head coach Priya PV, the Malabarians begin their campaign against Amman SC on Sunday. Kick-off is exactly an hour away!

I'm your host Hari Thoyakkat, and I'll be keeping you company through what promises a fascinating evening of football. Needless to say, it's also a very important day in the history of Indian football.

Gokulam Kerala vs Amman SC: Building up

"I'm happy to be here as this is the first time an Indian team is participating in the AFC Women’s Club Championship. We've come prepared for the tournament and have been training for 10 months where we've also had a few friendlies with the U16 boys team back in Kerala," GKFC head coach Priya PV said before the game.

She further added, "We'd like to make history here and that’s our aim in this competition. The women’s game in India, especially the domestic league, is still in its infancy after being established just five years ago. This is the best opportunity for us to earn some exposure playing against some of the best teams in Asia. Our girls are eager to perform and I hope we can get maximum points for all our games here in Jordan.

Meanwhile, Priya’s opposite number, Khaled Nemer, is quietly confident of Amman Club’s chances of victory after claiming their fifth Jordan Women's Football League title. "We're the champions in our domestic league here in Jordan and we’ve not lost a game," she said in the pre-match press conference.

"Our preparations have gone as scheduled with games against the women’s U16 team. We don’t know much about the Indian team but I believe the players are ready for their first match. We'll focus on our strengths to play at our best in this tournament," the Amman SC head coach further added.
