The FIFA World Cup 2026 final will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup 2026 is nearing its conclusion, with the final set to be played in a few days. The remaining four teams in the tournament are facing off in the semi-finals to determine the two finalists of this edition, while the losers will face each other in a third-place playoff game.
Spain became the first team to reach the World Cup final in this edition after a stunning 2-0 win over France on July 14. La Roja are aiming to repeat their success from 16 years ago when they lifted the trophy for the first time in their history in South Africa.
The European champions will face a tough test in the final on July 19, where they are scheduled to play either Argentina or England. The defending champions, led by Lionel Messi, are set to take on the Three Lions in the second semi-final on July 15 in Atlanta.
The winner of that game will progress to the final, while the loser will take on France in the third-place playoff in Miami on July 18.

1. Spain

The 2010 champions entered the semi-final as slight underdogs against the all-conquering Les Bleus. However, to everyone’s surprise, Luis de la Fuente’s men completely neutralised the threat of Kylian Mbappe and co., cruising to a 2-0 victory.
Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring from the spot after Lucas Digne conceded a first-half penalty. Pedro Porro then doubled the lead before the hour mark by finishing a fine team move.

So far, Spain have qualified after defeating France 2‑0 in the semi‑final. They will face the winner of England vs Argentina in the final.
