Antonio Conte drops big hint on his next destination amid Man United & Juventus links
Conte wants to join a club that has lost its history.
Former Chelsea and Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte shot down speculation that he is ready to return to management right now, despite having been out of a job since leaving Napoli in the summer. However, the Italian declined to rule out a return to England in the future.
In an interview with The Athletic, Conte acknowledged that he would like to go to a club that has “somewhat lost sight of their history,” one “where there’s pressure, where, ultimately, you know full well that you’re not going there just to take part.”

After managing Napoli for two years and winning one Scudetto and one Supercoppa Italiana, Antonio Conte left the team last summer. He has now dropped a big hint on his next possible destination.
“There are many clubs that have somewhat lost sight of their history. I’d like to go to one of these clubs to dust off that history and make it shine once more,” Conte said. “By having the ambition to bring that club back – if it isn’t there today – to fight for those goals. I know full well that only one team can win every year.”
“But I must carry in my heart – and instil in the hearts of the fans, my players and my directors – that spark, that hope that makes you say, ‘F**k, we can win’.”
Although Conte doesn’t currently have a club, he is eager to start the next phase of his career and has recently been connected to Manchester United and Juventus.
From 2011 to 2014, he was the Bianconeri’s coach, winning three straight Serie A titles – the first in the team’s history following the Calciopoli incident in 2006.
Conte had a remarkable managerial career and has won six league titles with four clubs across two leagues. He has also had noteworthy Premier League experiences with Chelsea and Tottenham.
Despite his numerous wins, Conte highlighted that his career has been marked by defeats, emphasising that success in football is not assured. This might explain why he wants to take on a fresh challenge with a team that wants to reclaim its historic standing.
