The Gunners stage a comeback to secure three crucial points!

Arsenal welcomed Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium for their sixth matchweek fixture of the Premier League 2026-27 campaign. The clash between the two clubs was nothing short of an entertainer.

The Mikel Arteta-led side did not look very comfortable with their performance in the first half. Their efforts in the final third were not quite enough. The Gunners need to fix this issue sooner, as they struggled against Brighton as well before the international window. Arsenal have secured three points and will continue their title defence.

Leeds United put up a strong fight against the Gunners and produced an entertaining contest. They took a lead first, but failed to keep their calm and composure throughout the fixture. James Trafford was not good enough in guarding the goal and it was a welcome gift for the hosts.

Biggest lessons from Arsenal vs Leeds United:

Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere

1. The Gunners show character to complete the comeback

Mikel Arteta’s men were down by a goal early in the second half, but continued their hard work and made a strong comeback to secure three important points. Riccardo Calafiori equalised in the 62nd minute and then Bruno Guimaraes stepped up his game to put Arsenal ahead. This comeback is crucial as it showed their ability to recover from a difficult position and find a way to win.

2. Riccardo Calafiori delivers once again

The Italian fullback once again came up with a top-notch performance for Arsenal and helped them secure a win. He scored a crucial equaliser in the 62nd minute and it was a big confidence booster for the Gunners, who were down by a goal. Ben White made no mistake and came up with a sharp assist.

3. Bruno Guimaraes with immediate impact off the bench

After being down by a goal in the 55th minute, Arsenal needed a strong performance to make a comeback and Bruno Guimaraes turned out to be an important asset for the side.

He entered the field in the 63rd minute and just seven minutes later engraved his name on the scoresheet after scoring the match-winning goal for the defending Premier League champions. The Brazilian midfielder once again showed his ability to turn around the game.

4. Leeds United’s unbeaten streak comes to a close

In their first five games of the English Premier League 2026-27, Leeds United did not lose any of their matches and were looking to continue that. However, the Gunners stepped up their game to make a comeback. Daniel Farke’s men took the lead first, but were not able to hold down Arsenal.

With this 1-2 defeat, Leeds United’s undefeated run in the English top division comes to an end for this season.

5. Daniel Farke’s men need a lot more in defence

Despite taking a one-goal lead, Leeds United dropped three points. Their performance in the attacking front looked quite impressive, but they were not good enough in defence. Arsenal fired two quick goals to take the lead.

Declan Rice had a strong midfield command and broke down the Leeds attack in the second half multiple times. The Daniel Farke-led side must look forward now and polish their skills in the backline.
