AS Monaco vs Getafe: Full lineups confirmed for pre-season friendly
The Red and Whites will look to claim a home win in the Monaco vs Getafe fixture.
After a disappointing 2025/26 campaign, AS Monaco will look to continue their preparations for the upcoming season with a tricky pre-season fixture against Spanish side Getafe at Stade Louis II on Thursday, August 6.
The principality side could only manage a seventh-place finish in the French Ligue 1 last season, securing a place in the UEFA Conference League play-off round. Despite a seven-match winning streak from February to April, Monaco finished 17 points adrift of champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Their UEFA Champions League campaign also ended in heartbreak as they suffered a narrow 5-4 aggregate loss to PSG in the knockout phase play-offs. They were also eliminated in the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France, losing to Strasbourg.
Their warm-up results for the upcoming season have also been mixed. They began with a 5-2 win over fourth-division side AS Saint-Priest. However, they suffered a 2-0 away loss to Portuguese side Sporting CP before being held to a 2-2 draw by Cercle Brugge.
Getafe also finished seventh in La Liga last season and were eliminated in the Round of 32 stage in the Copa del Rey. Without European football to look forward to this season, Los Azulones will seek to improve upon their domestic showing.
They secured back-to-back pre-season friendly wins over Reading (1-0) and Tenerife (2-1). However, a goalless draw against Real Valladolid ended their momentum, and they were thrashed 4-1 by Atletico Madrid in their last outing.
