Athletic Club vs Sevilla: Full lineups confirmed for LaLiga 2026-27 match

Athletic Club are scheduled to face Sevilla in an exciting fixture of the LaLiga 2026-27 season at Estadio de San Mamés on Saturday, August 22, 2026. The hosts, who did not feature in the opening matchweek, will look to secure a winning start to their campaign against Sevilla, who won their opening match.

Sevilla faced Rayo Vallecano in their LaLiga opener and fell behind in the fourth minute to an Álvaro García Rivera goal. Los Nervionenses fought back in the second half, courtesy of a 52nd-minute strike from Jon Guridi. Despite Kike Salas being sent off in the 88th minute, the hosts secured a 2-1 win, with Gerard Fernandez scoring a penalty in the 97th minute.

Luis Garcia will hope that his side can maintain this form against Basque opponents tonight. Athletic Club did not do any major business over the summer. However, they did exceedingly well to hold on to their star players, including Nico Williams.

However, the youngster would not likely feature much tonight due to a lack of match fitness. With Nico Williams unlikely to feature much, his brother, Inaki Williams, will be key for the Bilbao-based hosts. They will look to clinch an early win.
