Brahim Diaz: List of all assists in FIFA World Cup history

Brahim Diaz has four assists in the ongoing World Cup in North America.

Morocco have reached the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-finals, with the Atlas Lions set to face France at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 9. The North African side have been superb in the expanded 48-team edition, and one of the reasons is playmaker Brahim Diaz.

Ismael Saibari has been the main source of goals, with the Bayern Munich forward netting three goals. Azzedine Ounahi also scored twice in the Round of 16 clash against Canada, while Soufiane Rahimi has scored twice.

However, Diaz has been the creative force behind the North African side. The Real Madrid attacker, who is a former Spain international, has chipped in with four assists in five matches in the tournament, becoming the joint-second-highest assist provider in the tournament.

2026 FIFA World Cup – USA, Canada, Mexico

Assist 1: Brazil 1-1 Morocco

Diaz assisted Saibari’s opener in the first match against Brazil. The attacker threaded a perfectly-weighted pass between the centre-back pairing of Gabriel Magalhaes and Marquinhos, finding the run of Saibari. The latter then lobbed the ball over Alisson Becker’s head to give the Atlas Lions the lead.

Assist 2: Scotland 1-1 Morocco

Diaz delivered another beautiful pass from the right flank, finding Saibari, who ran behind the Scottish defence before firing a rocket shot past Angus Gunn into the top corner. It took just 71 seconds for the African giants to take the lead in the match.

Assists 3 & 4: Canada 0-3 Morocco

Diaz registered two assists in the last 10 minutes of the match. For the first, the winger made a darting run after being handed acres of space down the flank. He then cut inside the box before teeing up Ounahi, who slotted the ball into the back of the net.

In stoppage time, Diaz won the ball in the Canadian half before threading a low pass to Soufiane Rahimi, with the latter beating Maxime Crepeau with a fine finish. This marked Diaz’s fourth assist in the World Cup – a record for an African player.
