Saibari has scored three goals in the expanded 48-team World Cup this year.
Morocco are enjoying a fine run in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026, and one of the main reasons for that is the fine goalscoring form of attacker Ismael Saibari. The 25-year-old is enjoying a breakout season in international football and remains firmly in the hunt for the Golden Boot.
Born in Spain but raised in Belgium, Saibari opted to represent the country of his parents, Morocco. He has earned 34 caps for the Atlas Lions, scoring 12 goals, three of which have come in this year’s World Cup in North America. He has represented his country at the 2024 and 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring once in nine appearances.
After making his senior debut in 2020, he has risen through the ranks at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. After a superb 2025-26 season, where he won the Player of the Year award, he was snapped up by Bayern Munich for 50 million euros.
If Morocco are to match the best-ever semi-final finish they achieved at the 2022 World Cup, Saibari’s form in front of goal will be key for the North African side.

2026 FIFA World Cup – USA, Canada, Mexico
Goal 1: Brazil 1-1 Morocco
Saibari scored on his World Cup debut, that too against Brazil. A brilliant defence-splitting pass from Brahim Diaz found the run made by the Moroccan number 11, who lobbed the ball over Alisson’s head from 25 yards out. What a way to open your World Cup account!
Goal 2: Scotland 0-1 Morocco
Two goals in two games for Saibari in the quadrennial tournament, and this one came in just the second minute of the match. The Tartan Army lost the ball cheaply, with Brahim Diaz once again playing a perfectly weighted pass to Saibari on the right. The latter unleashed a powerful strike that flew past Angus Gunn and into the top corner.
Goal 3: Morocco 4-2 Haiti
A wonder goal from Wilson Isidor had put Haiti ahead just before half-time, but Saibari levelled the scores in stoppage time. Achraf Hakimi controlled the ball on the flank before playing a low cross into the box. Saibari made a late run and received the ball on the edge of the penalty area before firing it into the bottom corner.
