Brentford vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview – prediction, team news, lineups | Premier League 2026-27
New look Lilywhites led by De Zerbi eye win over Keith Andrews’ Brentford in Middlesex!
Gtech Community Stadium in Middlesex, United Kingdom, gears up to host Matchweek 1 of the Premier League, where home team Brentford and former Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur face each other in what is set to be a thrilling clash.
The Bees narrowly missed out on a continental berth despite finishing level on points with Brighton. After an impressive performance in his maiden season in Middlesex, Irish gaffer Keith Andrews will be keen to push for the top four this season and no better way to commence the season than with a home win over Spurs.
They roped in Mamadou Sangare from Lens and Callum Wilson from West Ham. Their pre-season campaign saw them getting the better of Rennes 4-2 before thrashing former Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt 7-0 in their last friendly game.
The Lilywhites, despite finishing 17th consecutively in the last two editions, are still one of the favourites to finish in the top four after making some of the finest signings so far. They have a new-look team led by former Brighton gaffer Roberto De Zerbi, who pulled off a miracle to save Spurs from relegation.
With the signings of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle and Mateus Fernandes, their midfield looks pretty solid. Their defence will feature three new signings after Van Hecke, Senesi and Robertson switched sides to find their new home in N17.

Players to Watch
Kevin Schade (Brentford)

The German winger from Potsdam, Schade has honed his skills early on at Freiburg’s youth setup before being promoted to the senior team. He joined the Bees back in 2022 and has cemented his starting role.
Schade is one of the quickest wide runners in the Premier League, and he will be up against a young Archie Gray as Pedro Porro returned to training just last week. A lightning-quick and versatile modern wide forward, Schade will eye creating a lot of menace against Spurs
Marcos Senesi (Spurs)

Born along the western bank of the Uruguay River on Argentina’s eastern border, Concordia, Senesi honed his skills in San Lorenzo before making a move to Europe with Feyenoord. He was brilliant for Bournemouth in the last few seasons and will be keen to impress in his new home in North London.
A combative and left-footed central defender, Senesi will be up against the attacking trio of Schade, Ouattara and Igor Thiago. In his Premier League debut for Spurs, Senesi will be keen to clinch a clean sheet and get the better of the Bees.
