Goal 1: Portugal 2-0 Uruguay
Portugal were coming after a 3-2 draw against Ghana in the opening game. There were drawn in a very difficult group alongside South Korea and two-time world champions Uruguay, who were coming after a goalless draw against the Taegeuk Warriors.
Lusail Stadium in Qatar hosted the Portugal vs Qatar game. A win was essential for Portugal to qualify for the next round. There were no goals in the first half and the score was level 0-0
In the first few minutes of the second half, Raphaël Guerreiro set up Bruno very well, and the Man United captain took a right-footed shot to make it 1-0 for Portugal after beating Sergio Rochet between the sticks.
Goal 2: Portugal 2-0 Uruguay
Just when it seemed that the game was done and dusted, there was a handball from José María Giménez in the 93rd minute inside the box and Portugal were awarded a penalty.
Bruno, who scored his first-ever World Cup goal just a few minutes ago, had an opportunity to get a brace against two-time world champions Uruguay. The 29-year-old goalkeeper failed to save the penalty as Bruno hardly fails to convert from the spot.
That goal saw Portugal taking a 2-0 lead and went on to win the game. Portugal topped their group and advanced to the Round of 16 before thrashing Switzerland 6-1. However, Morocco crushed their World Cup hopes by defeating them in the quarter-finals.
