Champions League 2026-27 Complete schedule for Matchday 1

The elite European competition enters its third season under the 36-team league phase format!

Yet another season of the UEFA Champions League is set to get underway. The league phase-matchday 1 of the tournament will be contested across three days, from Tuesday, September 8 to Thursday, September 10.

36 clubs from the top European leagues will gather to compete for a crucial piece of silverware. Each club will play eight matches and the top eight teams on the table will secure a direct qualification spot for the knockout stage of the UCL.

The opening matchday of the UEFA Champions League 2026-27 will see several high-voltage fixtures including Real Madrid vs Inter Milan, Manchester City vs Porto, Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid and Napoli vs Arsenal.

Led by Luis Enrique, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will be looking to begin their hunt for their third straight Champions League title. They will begin their title defence against the Slovak First Football League side, Slovan Bratislava.

This will be the third time that clubs will be battling for the mega prize starting from the new league phase format. Every point is going to be valuable.
