The World Cup will kick-off on June 11!
Football’s most prestigious tournament, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is less than a few days from its grand inaugural. With the nations underway with their final preparations, the excitement for the competition is at an all-time high.
The 2026 edition is set to create certain new records, making its mark in World Cup history. Co-hosted by the USA, Mexico and Canada, the competition will be returning to North American soil after 32 years. It will also be the largest edition to date, with a record 48 teams set to participate, instead of the traditional 32 nations, raising the total matches from 94 to 104.
The tournament is also highly regarded for its approach towards football clubs. FIFA has upgraded the Club Benefits Programme (CBP) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with FIFA set to distribute a record $355 million to clubs whose players are participating in the World Cup. Teams are set to make an estimated daily amount between $11,000 to $15,000 per player.
With the new structure, clubs are expected to receive huge incentives to foster the development of future talents. A represented club will receive a minimum estimated amount of $150,000 per player, even if the player’s journey ends in the group stages.

7. Manchester United (England) – 12

The English side, despite a poor start to the season, made a remarkable turnaround to the season under manager Michael Carrick, finishing 3rd in the Premier League season.
Manchester United are the 4th most represented outfit in the Premier League, with players like Kobbie Mainoo being called up after incredible performances during the second half of the season. However, players like Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw were snubbed despite strong outings.
