Colombia starting lineup vs Egypt confirmed for FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 match

Colombia will face Ghana for the first time in the FIFA World Cup.

Colombia are currently enjoying a stellar campaign in North America. Los Cafeteros were drawn in Group K of the global competition alongside Portugal, DR Congo, and Uzbekistan. They started their campaign with a 3-1 triumph over World Cup debutants Uzbekistan.

Daniel Munoz, Luis Diaz, and Jaminton Campaz scored for La Tri to secure a dominant win in their opening clash. In the second game, they defeated DR Congo 1-0, who were making their return to the FIFA World Cup after a 52-year wait. Munoz scored his second goal of the tournament as Los Cafeteros continued with their possession-dominant style of play.

Colombia faced their biggest challenge in the competition when they locked horns against Portugal in their last group stage game on Matchday 3. Los Cafeteros took more shots and maintained more possession; however, they failed to break the deadlock against Roberto Martinez’s side, and the game ended as a goalless draw.

Their best finish in the FIFA World Cup came in 2014, when James Rodríguez won the Golden Boot, and they reached the quarter-finals. Since then, their success in the tournament has been limited. However, at the 2026 edition, they have the golden chance to script history.

In the round of 32, they are set to face Ghana at the Kansas City Stadium in Missouri on Friday, July 3rd.
