Cristiano Ronaldo’s sisters, Katia and Elma Aveiro, have dismissed recent rumours that their brother is planning to marry his long-time companion, Georgina Rodriguez, this year.
Last week, many media reports claimed that the Al-Nassr forward and his girlfriend intended to marry on August 8 in Cristiano Ronaldo’s homeland of Madeira. The much-anticipated event was expected to take place at a cathedral in Funchal, the island’s capital.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sisters deny wedding rumours
Adriano Silva, a Portuguese television reporter, recently called Ronaldo’s sisters to check the speculation. Katia and Elma Aveiro firmly refuted speculations that their brother would marry this year, let alone this month.
As reported by The Sun, the 41-year-old player and the 32-year-old model were planning a Saturday afternoon wedding in Madeira. According to the report, a ceremony had been scheduled in the Funchal church, with a VIP reception at the nearby five-star Savoy Palace hotel.
The rumour culminated in a chaotic scene on August 8, when thousands of fans and media gathered outside the Funchal church, hoping to witness the couple’s wedding. Instead, another couple was being married at the site that day.
Before the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo emphasised his goal to win the trophy in an interview with journalist Piers Morgan, adding that he hoped to marry after the tournament.
However, when Portugal were eliminated by Spain, local media believed that he had postponed any wedding arrangements. Ronaldo said that he proposed to Rodriguez in August of last year.
With his wedding rumours now being denied, Ronaldo is now expected to return to training for Al-Nassr as he looks to clinch another title with the Saudi team.
