Didier Drogba to visit India as Chelsea and Yokohama ambassador
The former Ivory Coast skipper is the ambassador to Chelsea’s official partner Yokohama.
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba is all set to come down to India courtesy to the London club’s official sponsor Yokohama. The Japanese rubber company based in Tokyo will bring the Cote d’Ivoire international to Delhi NCR on Friday November 23 of this year.
Drogba is the official ambassador of Yokohama and the unique fan event will be fronted by him. The 40 year-old who currently plays for American club Phoenix Rising, has a huge fan base across the world. After all the former Blues’ striker in his two spells with the club won a remarkable number of major trophies [12] including the Premier League as well as the Champions League. In his 9 seasons at Stamford Bridge, Drogba amazingly scored 104 goals in all competitions and is known as a true global superstar and an inspiration to millions around the world.
As the main feature of the said event, fans will have a wonderful opportunity to experience a special Q&A round with Drogba. And that is obviously not all to it; fans will be able to participate in a Yokohama tyre-challenge, they can also test their football accuracy skills there and a special treat will see Nikk Freestyler showcasing his latest freestyle skills.
Chelsea, who won the UEFA Champions League in 2012 and consequently the UEFA Europa League in 2013, are one of the biggest football clubs in Europe. The club was founded in the year 1904 and the team plays its home games at the iconic Stamford Bridge stadium in London which has the capacity of 41,000 spectators.
